Meet the Long Beach Team Behind Sutton ADU Long Beach
We’re the crew that shows up at your door with a photo badge, a written price, and a plan we can actually explain. Since 2006, Sutton ADU Long Beach has built detached ADUs, room additions, and home additions across Long Beach, and the people doing the work are the reason homeowners keep calling us back. We’re background-checked, identity-verified, uniformed, and local. You’ll know our names before we arrive, and you’ll know exactly what we’re doing once we’re on site. No mystery crews, no rotating cast of subcontractors you’ve never met.
Our People

Miles Hartwell, Owner
Miles founded Sutton ADU Long Beach and still walks every job site before the first invoice goes out. He’s a Southern California builder who’d rather hand you a line-item number than a vague estimate, and he’s the one who put the 365-Day Done Right Promise in writing because verbal guarantees don’t hold up in court or in a rainstorm. Miles grew up around construction and has spent nearly two decades helping Long Beach homeowners figure out what fits on their lot, what the city will approve, and what’s actually worth the money. When he’s not reviewing plans, he’s usually on a ladder somewhere, checking flashing or arguing with a level. He answers his phone.
Dana R., Lead ADU Technician
Dana has run the build side of Sutton ADU Long Beach for the last nine years, specializing in prefab and modular ADU installations. She’s certified across the major product lines we work with, including Abodu, Cover, and Boxabl, and she’s the person who catches framing issues before they become foundation issues. Dana is obsessive about sequencing, which means your project doesn’t stall because the electrical rough-in wasn’t scheduled until after the drywall. Off the clock, she restores mid-century furniture and has opinions about dovetail joints that she will share if you ask.
Victor M., Senior Installer
Victor handles the framing, cladding, and exterior systems that make an ADU look like it belongs in a Long Beach neighborhood instead of being dropped in from a catalog. He’s our go-to for James Hardie siding details and Tuff Shed conversions, and he has a reputation for clean corners and even cleaner job sites. Victor did residential remodeling in Orange County before joining Sutton, and he still swears Long Beach homeowners ask better questions than anyone else in Southern California. He brings his own tools, labels everything, and drinks an alarming amount of cold brew. It works.
Priya S., Service Coordinator
Priya is the voice on the phone and the person who makes sure your written price matches the work being done, down to the last line item. She schedules every visit, sends the name and photo of the technician before arrival, and follows up after completion to confirm everything is right. Priya came from project coordination at a Los Angeles design firm, which means she’s fluent in both construction timelines and homeowner anxiety. She keeps a running list of every permit office quirk in Long Beach and can tell you, off the top of her head, which ADU product lines are currently quoting the shortest lead times. She will also tell you to bring in the trash bins before street sweeping. Twice, probably.
One Standard, Every Job
Every Sutton location operates under the same framework: the Threshold Standard. That means a written price before any work begins, a 365-Day Done Right Promise covering defects in workmanship for one full calendar year from project completion, and a free second visit if any element of the build fails within that window. It also means our crew doesn’t park unmarked vans and wave vaguely at your back fence. Background-checked, identity-verified, photo-badged, and uniformed, every person we send to your property arrives the way we’d want someone arriving at our own homes. That’s the whole job, on every job.
